Griffith after he gives a 90 minute question and answer session. – Fr. Griffith is a professor of Semitic and Egyptian languages and literature at the Catholic University of America and author of "The Beginnings of Christian Theology in Arabic: Muslim-Christian Encounters in the Early Islamic Period " and "Arabic Christianity in the Monasteries of Ninth Century Palestine." This is a part of a yearly lecture series during Arab American history month in the Chicago area focusing on Arab Christians and Christians in the Middle East.

These two videos, done by a former Continual Anglican who later turned Mennonite, show how a lot of the added verses were already known to a number of Early Christians as Scripture, hence they weren't by any means something new, but were rather already embraced and accepted by some as canonical. They also show how the Byzantine text-type embraced and unified these two variants, of both East and West, into one single tradition:
