God Is Dead !
...and we have killed Him...
People like to wash their hands of the violence. But we all wash our hands in blood.

Al Pacino on God, Guilt, Fasting, Abstinence, and Morality
- What do you want from me?
- I want you to be yourself. You know, I’ll tell you, boy: guilt... it's like a bag of bricks. All you got to do... is set it down. I know what you're going through: I’ve been there. Just... Let it go.
- I can't do that.
- Who are you carrying all those bricks for? God? Is that it? God!? I’ll tell you... Let me give you a little "inside information" about God. God likes to watch. He's a prankster ! Think about it! He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift... and then what does He do? I swear, for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition ! It's the goof of all time ! Look... but don't touch ! Touch... but don't taste ! Taste... but don't swallow ! And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' !... He's a sadist! He's an absentee landlord ! Worship that? Never!

Theodicy and the Problem of Evil
The gods may throw a dice
Their minds as cold as ice
And someone way down here
Looses someone dear...

The Lvka-Myth Theory
My name is Craciun Lucian. My mother's name is Eugenia, and my father was born on January 3rd. My paternal grandparents are Stephen and Mary, and my maternal uncle and cousin are John and Basil. My favorite color is red, I love drinking milk, I enjoy giving alms, I like listening to Christmas Carols, and have had my heart broken way too many times...

The Trouble With Galileo Galilei
Yes, the guys trying to burn him at the stake were Catholic as well, I get that: but, -you see-, just because Sicilian mobsters "murderize " each other doesn't make either one of them less Italian than the other...

Monarchy and Monotheism
The Kings of Israel, as well as Saint Constantine the Great, imposed or enforced monotheism as a tool for strengthening their own political power, and/or fortifying the unity of their empires: one God in Heaven, one King on earth; divine unity equals political and imperial unity.
Was the mighty Egyptian empire monotheistic? No. Did the great Chinese and Babylonian empires ever worship one God? No. Did Alexander the Great, who conquered the whole known world, ever bow his knee to a single deity? No. Then...? What gives?

Breaking News from Stephen Hawking!
Because there is a law such as gravity, the Christ-Child can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there was something rather than nothing in Mary's womb, why Jesus exists, why we Christians exist.
It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the conception of Christ Jesus going.
The question is: is the way the Messiah was conceived chosen by God for reasons we can't understand, or was it determined by a law of science? I believe the second. If you like, you can call the laws of science 'God', but it wouldn't be a personal God that you could meet, and ask questions.

Why I'm Not An Atheist
A series of posts I recently wrote at my personal blog, Pious Fabrications, entitled "Why I'm not an atheist." I've received several replies to various aspects of this series from atheists, but none of them have been even remotely challenging (in fact, most haven't even been logical or truthful to historical fact).
1. Logical Inconsistency
2. Outstanding Examples
3. Atheist Moral Objections
4. The Phantom Menace Of "Religion"
5. Christ Is Risen!
6. The Holy Orthodox Church
7. If You Don't Go To Church, You're Not A Christian
