Papacy Debate
I'm involved in a formal debate about the Papacy with Scott Windsor. You can find it on Scott's web site over here. He refers to me there by my first name: Chris, whereas here I am posting under my second name, and patron saint name: John. We've both done opening statements, and 2 rebuttals, and are soon to post 3rd rebuttals.
The thesis of the debate is "Is the modern role of the papacy a legitimate development from the Early Church?".
Unusually, we have both agreed to publish each phase of the debate simultaneously. After the 3rd rebuttals, we will have an IRC chat session which will be posted online.

John:
I've been following it and will continue doing so. Really enjoying it, and you've done a great job so far. Good luck and God be with you for the duration.
I'm planning on posting something here -- maybe a synopsis of some kind or maybe just a re-post of my own debate entries, not sure what yet -- once I finish my debate with Rhology. Maybe you can do the same? I'd love to see it.
Also enjoying the debate! Looking forward to the final installments!
So Chris, how soon will you be ready for the IRC part of the debate? You went silent on me for a while, and I didn't even know this blog existed until I was doing a search and came across it. So, are you ready for the IRC portion? Let's set a date and time and then we can conclude this debate (finally!).
Mention something on my blog...
